"EMBRACING MY IKIGAI"

Here's a short story of how I found out about my abilities...

PASSION:
First, I found my passion (journalism + design). I had a satisfactory beginning but a sense of uselessness over time. It was much more about myself (ego at play). I chose journalism/photography out of love.

--- Emotionally connected ---

MISSION:
Next, I found my mission (teaching + journalism). I was/am teaching English as Second Language because I wanted to make my students communicate better by opening their minds to new frontiers, and breaking barriers/borders to create bridges between cultures.

--- Solving a social, economic problem ---

VOCATION:
Then, I found my vocation (teaching + technology). I had to start using more technology in my lessons (especially because of the pandemic), then I realized how important technology can be and how it is going to shape the future of education and innovation.

--- People request / level of competition ---

PROFESSION:
Finally, I accepted my final profession (design + technology). It's something that has been around much earlier but I had never paid enough attention to the possibility of working in tech. I learned how to create a webpage in one of my classes at the University. Then, I studied again when I was studying design. Once again, I re-learned about web pages when teaching online. It's something that has always been surrounding my other discoveries. I have always found it interesting. However, I used to think it was something way too "complex" for me. I believe I wasn't ready yet but now I am. I had to go through my long journey until I realized it after all.

--- People compliment you / feels intuitive ---

IKIGAI has helped me align my needs to the needs of the world. I discovered Ikigai by accident and it finally made me understand the meaning behind my journey in life.

---IKI = means LIFE---

---GAI = means WORTH---

IKIGAI is an ancient Japanese philosophy.
It's a way of discovering meaninful purpose in life.
I decided to implement that in my life a few years ago.

It's about finding your "inner joy".
